Amata cf. kuhlweini
Day Flying moth, slow in flight, large narrow fore wings and reduced hind wings. Wings have clear spots and patches. This particular species shows brilliant blue body with significant red spot towards mid section.
A very big thank you for the comments and assistance in identifying this species.. Traveling in Durban and so happy to see some new things. I had no idea there are so many types!!!
Erebidae, Arctiinae, Arctiini, Ctenuchiina, Amata sp., easy part. Now it's getting tricky. There are several Amata sp. found in Southern Africa. You can easily rule out Amata cerbera and Amata alicia, due to the missing red stripe at the upperside of the body.

Many of the Amata sp. are also very variable considering the size of the spots. In my eyes and at the end, there is only one left: Amata kuhlweini:
