Snowy Egret

Egretta thula

Description:

At one time, the beautiful plumes of the Snowy Egret were in great demand by market hunters as decorations for women's hats. This reduced the population of the species to dangerously low levels. Now protected in the USA by law, under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, this bird's population has rebounded. Wikipedia

Habitat:

Aquatic Park in Berkeley, CA

You have some beautiful shots. I found a snowy egret today, but I had him labeled little egret and I knew that wasn't right considering what info I was reading. Then I found this site and I knew I was on to something. http://www.surfbirds.com/namericanbirds/...
