A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
Cyanocitta cristata
Brilliant blue coloration makes identifying this passerine in the field fairly simple. The dorsal surface of the bird is blue and the ventral surface is white. The blue jay sports a blue crest.
Blue Jays are fond of woodlands, and are quite common in urban backyards, especially those housing a bird feeder.
These birds were photographed at a Black Oil Sunflower Seed feeder.
