Description:

Tan colored, foamy looking egg case. Light weight with a firm texture. Potentially hundreds of baby mantids can hatch from these. The Chinese Mantis is an introduced species that has done very well in North America. They are a fairly large mantis and will catch and eat a large variety of arthropods and occasionally small vertebrates.

Habitat:

Tree on a woodland border along a clearing. The clearing is used as a garden area by the public with plots that have flowers and vegetables. Rockwood Park, Midlothian,
