Ardea alba
The great-egret (Ardea alba, synonymous Casmerodius albus), also known simply as egret, a bird of the order Pelecaniformes. It is common on the edge of lakes, rivers and marshes. It was really hunting for the withdrawal of egret - special feathers that form in the reproductive period - for the industry of hats for women.
Occurs in North America to the Straits of Magellan, all over Brazil and also in the Old World. In Brazil it is found mainly in the Pantanal, the back of the southeast, northeast, north and rivers throughout the country.
