Banded Pupa Parasite Wasp

Description:

Black head and thorax with white spots; black abdomen with white bands; orange legs and antennae; clear wings; ovipositor almost same length as body; overall length approx. 45mm.

Habitat:

This one exploring the deep crevices in the bark of Eucalyptus melliodora - Yellow Box Gum beside a country road.

Notes:

Not 100% sure of ID as antennae as markings don't match the 3 at brisbane insects

Nice shot argybee. I believe the long ovipositor place it in the ichneumon group.
