Cardiospermum halicacabum
Also known as Love in a Puff. This is the unripe fruit of a plant that is considered a noxious pest in Arkansas. The young leaves and shoots, however, can be cooked and eaten like a vegetable.
This one was down on the bank of the Arkansas River, where the water touches land. It is said that these vines like waste areas, which is fitting, as Cadron Settlement Park is right beside a landfill.
