Orgyia leucostigma
What a sight to discover! This female White Marked Tussock Moth is laying her eggs on our back porch door! Females are flightless with reduced wings. The white foam protects the egg mass and cocoon (which is hairy) underneath. In the daylight you can see parts of the cocoon within the protected mass.
West central GA, porch door.
