Raivuna patruelis
Dictyopharidae; Dictiopharinae; Dictyopharini; Raivuna patruelis (Stål, 1859). I have taken several photos of this kind of Planthopper, over the years, but I think this is the first time that the proboscis (rostrum) can be seen clearly (in my first picture). I cannot find any pictures for comparison purposes on Wikipedia or other scientific sources, but inaturalist.org shows so many pictures labelled Raivuna patruelis, from their contributors, that the sheer numbers must give some weight to their identification. - https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/358529-...
This Long-nosed Planthopper was spotted in our backyard vegetable plot on a Sponge Gourd (Luffa acutangula ) locally called Patola. Plant identity - http://www.stuartxchange.org/Patola.html...
There are some very good pictures of this planthopper in - https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/21...
