This is the disadvantage of vernacular names. The locals referred to this as a "jumping stick", which is why I had the common name in parentheses. I, personally, think of stick insects as being those individuals in the order phasmatodea. Scientific names eliminate such confusion! Viva Linnaeus!!!

I really have no idea WHAT it is, but I am quite certain that it is not T. blondi. It appears to be a very large theraphosid, but body shape is wrong for blondi. Whatever it is, you have a beautiful picture!!!
I'm going to have to stick by Dendrobates reticulatus. Note the "reticulated" blue/black pattern on the hind section of the frog. This differs significantly from the grainier pattern on P. vittatus.
