I just did a bit of research. It looks like Hericium erinaceus would be the best choice because it grows from one cluster. Any thoughts?

Harrier Red-tailed Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk commented on by Harrier Middle River, Maryland, USA11 years ago

Hi,

This bird has a longer tail that is more evenly banded than a Red-tailed Hawk would have. It also has a smaller bill. I believe that it is an immature Cooper's Hawk based on the rounded tail with a white tail tip, which separates Cooper's from Sharp-shinned.

Harrier Small-Footed Bat

I agree with a Small-footed Bat based on the combination of black outer parts, tawny fur and long, pointed ears. The names of these bats, however, are debatable. Wikipedia and my Peterson guide uses Eastern Small-footed Myotis; EOL uses Small-footed Myotis. http://eol.org/pages/327547/names/common...

Common would have greenish legs and a much longer tail.

Harrier Western Gull
Western Gull commented on by Harrier Seattle, Washington, USA11 years ago

As Liam said, primaries are too dark for a Glaucous-wing or Glaucous-wing hybrid. The bill looks too short and the head looks too cute and finely structured for a Herring, leaving Western as the best match.

Harrier Common Gallinule
Common Gallinule commented on by Harrier Escondido, California, USA12 years ago

Many authorities have split the Common Moorhen into two species: Common Moorhen in Europe, and Common Gallinule in the Americas. Gallinula galeata. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Gall...

Harrier Greater Scaup
Greater Scaup commented on by Harrier Melbourne, Florida, USA12 years ago

Purplish head sheen, slight head tuft, and limited bill nail indicate Lesser Scaup on the male. As for the female, forward head peak and limited white suggest Lesser as well, but I'm slightly uncertain.
