Nups

Unfortunately I didn't have time to observe this little guy, he was freaking out our cleaner who claimed there was a giant spider in the bathtub. I think he had a net all ready to go as there was bits getting caught on the stick I used to pick him up.

Christmas beeetle! I remember a trip with dad in the VW to NSW where we encountered heaps of these one summer.

I didn't realise such an interesting creature was living right outside my window. I really need to look more closely around the place.

Yeah, she never sits still for a good photo though.

It was hard getting her just to stay still. I might try to get some when I take her out to graze next.

I thought that myself, but there was no other signs pointing to them being immature. They were feeding themselves, being quiet and of adult size. I'll try get a photo next time.

We had 2 wattlebirds in the garden today, normally get this species but the ones today did not have the red marking. Couldn't get a picture :(

Was next to a gate, but also high bird traffic in the area. Found another one set up on the other side of the path.

Thanks guys, if only I'd gotten a better shot from above. Identification wasn't the intention at the time of taking the photo.
