hahahaha this is the same one lives in my bathroom all the time, when you try to touch it he puffs up like a balloon.. and makes a weird grunt sound...he sometime climb up the corner of my wall and goes on shelves above us...our bathroom also is a toilet for him, the corners seem to be his waste.. I always hear many stories they are poison, and not poison.....so i never touch him.. he so cute lol nice picture, i have many nice ones too,
Wow looks different than the ones i encountered in Loisiana, they were solid color dark brown to black, anyhow i went hiking and waded in this swamp area not thinking about the risks doing it alone, just by chance near by coasting towards me two fellas in a fan boat told me not to move, I thought crocks or gator...i was scared, but they said its much worse, a group of Water Moccasins were near me and they are very aggressive, they said there stories people be attacked by many at one time while in water...So I was stiff as the trees in the water...lol they shot off a rifle near them and they slithered away... Those guys were local tribes people out hunting for food of all types like snakes, crocks, frogs, snails and so on... I was lucky for them, they treated me to a BBQ gator..it was odd but memorable.. Moral- never do things in places you have no expertise at...anyways lovely picture. Ty
I only seen one my whole entire life and unfortunately it hit my fathers truck windshield and it was big and all white...we burried it in the snow, it was a bad blizzard night and it flew into us... i was only 9 years old than..lovely creatures.
Yes Heterometrus Longimanus., i googled it and it looks just like this one, it gave little info though, but this one is a big critter, in my palms he nearly covered it, but I did not spend much time holding him, nervous he may sting....lol and TY for the suggestion...
This is an actual photograph and I used my digital camera to take it, My wife was away with the digital camera so i used the old style camera, thought i state that before one person who seems to always be on my case about my photos real or not....

are they poison? i see them often lately on my fence posts, think they being pushed out of forests do to burning forests for development sadly.
Actually they are found throughout most Asian areas, I am living in Borneo and we have them here, Its my favorite bat species and I am always in awe when I see them flying over my home heading to the fruit orchard, sadly they are targeted as some here for food and as a pest due to destruction of farmers crops like fruits. I grow fruit trees in hope they come to my place, so far only tiny fruit bats.
