A worldwide community photographing and learning about wildlife
What a catch! Wonderful spotting. Congratulations..
Hello AvianEnthusiast ,
Welcome to Project Noah. This is a site to post wildlife (no pets or zoo photos, please) taken by you.
Your first spotting is that of a captive specimen but it would be wonderful if the others were free.
In case you already know the name of the species you have photographed...go right ahead and fill in the boxes. The Suggestion box is for others to give you names in case you need help with identification. In case you agree with the suggestion, use the Edit option (under the photo on the screen) and input the information so that the spotting is complete. Also, please fill in where you saw the species...not what books say about where it is found. Each spotting gets its own page! Even if it is the same species taken on different days.
Enjoy the site. Good luck with more spottings (free-living ones)!

Please write Xya sp. in the box for scientific name.
Xya is the Genus.
There is no need to write Genera Xya.
If you write Xya sp. everyone will understand Xya is Genus and species is not being named.
Thanks.
Amazing. Looks straight out of Star Wars. Absolutely a new species for me. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you ornithoptera.
Thanks again, Rithmini Dinhara.
Thank you, jazz.mann...it is lovely to be able to ID a bird I may never be lucky enough to see again. Sorry I missed your suggestion and did not update for so long.
Thank you AnthonyKeic.
Thank you, Rithmini Dinhara...the butterfly now has a name because of you. Many thanks.
Yes. I put the word mating in brackets against the common name too.
