Spotted Sedge-skipper

Hesperilla ornata

Description:

An attractive little skipper about 30mm long with black-brown colour from above and some pale yellow spots. From below it is mostly white with a myriad of black spots.

Habitat:

Moving between various ground plants including grasses, sedges.

Notes:

Several Hesperilla look fairly similar. Large yellow patches on the hind wings reduce options.
