Description:

Also called Robin Red-breast, white-cap or scarlet-breast. Male is rich red/scarlet chest, black back, tail, wings and head, white undertail and edges to wings and centre markings evident at rest, white 'spotlight' on forehead, beal black, legs black; female markings similar but washed out colours (grey/brown above, breast washed with red; two races that show only slight variations in colour. Adults grow to 13cm. Sharp sweet sounding call (whistling or chattering).

Habitat:

Found throughout south-east and south-west of Australia in dry forest and woodland and visits gardens, prefers areas with understoey as well as taller trees.
