Orange-winged Dropwing

Trithemis kirbyi

Description:

Note the stigma in pictures 4 & 5, the yellowish band and dark borders are indistinct and merge into one another and the ends are reddish.
Note the legs in pictures 1, 2, 3 & 5, the middle and hind femurs in particular are much darker than the lower legs, in good light they appear blue or black.
Note the inner ends of all wings are orange with a relatively sharp cut-off, this being particularly visible in pictures 4 & 5, and also in the ground shadows.
Note the shape of the abdomen, particularly in pictures 2, 3 & 6, it has a very slight waist just behind the wings and then tapers back gently to the tip, and overall it is narrower than the thorax.
Compare these features to the Red-veined Darter in this spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/108...
