Fishing Spider

Dolomedes sp.

Description:

A couple inches in diameter, counting legs.

Habitat:

Found on a log in a still pool on the side of a river, next to a little island and a very small (about 1 foot) cataract. Very silty riverbed. Lots of tall grassy plants nearby. Ben Burton Park.

Notes:

Can anyone tell what species it is? (Sorry about the poor quality photos; the camera I was using does not do close-ups well.)
