Red-winged Blackbird, female

Agelaius phoeniceus

Description:

Not nearly as flashy as the males of the species, but much more practical for hiding from predators. I wouldn't have been able to identify her species if it weren't for all the males nearby showing off their wings.

Habitat:

Beside a pond at Little Mulberry Park.
