Fowler's Toad, female

Anaxyrus (Bufo) fowleri

Description:

Brown toad with whitish belly. Light line down middle of back. No mottling on belly, but one distinct black spot on chin. Throat is not darkened, so it's a female. Has three warts in each spot on back.

Habitat:

Found in a hole in a tree, at ground level. Bottom of hole was moist soil. For the photo session, I had to reach into the hole, catch her, and bring her out into the light. She was not pleased, poor thing (peed on me!). But she was too cute to be left undocumented. The last photo shows her returning home to her cozy home in the tree.
