Macleay's Swallowtail Butterfly

Graphium macleayanus

Description:

beautiful butterfly species identified by the tails on its hind wings and the green colour on the undersides of its wings.broad brown wing margins - wings in constant vibration.

Habitat:

Forest area of regrowth eucalypt , sassafrass and adults feed from flowers such as Leptospermum, Lantana and buddleia

Notes:

The Macleay Swallowtail is native to the wetter coastal and mountain parts of eastern Australia, from northern Queensland south to Victoria and Tasmania
