Black-capped Chickadee

Poecile atricapillus

Description:

Black cap, grey back, white cheeks, fluffy, round appearance especially in winter. Black eyes, beak.

Habitat:

Forest lover but here it is foraging on dead weeds along the Katzie Nature Trail at Pitt Lake. Travelling in a mixed flock of chickadees, Golden-crowned kinglets and Ruby-crowned Kinglets. A pleasant visit!
