I do understand what you mean! I try to prevent myself from using flash as much as possible (I use a flashlight, which seems to keep the true colors better.), as it does deter from the true colors of the moth. I believe this may be because of the scales on the moth, and the thousands, if not, millions of them, reflecting at once because of flash!

I've been adding a ton of spottings to your mission. I have noticed that all the moth's have iridescent coloring through flash photography at night. it probably is well documented somewhere but new to me. They must identify each other visually through that means...
