Acacia Leaf Beetle

Dicranosterna picea

Description:

One of several species of tortoise leaf beetles. these ones are a rich mahogany brown, rounded, pitted shell. 12mm in length, feeds on Acacia leaves. The tree was alive with similar beetles.

Habitat:

Prefers Acacia species to dwell in and feed on the leaves. These ones found on felled tree in dry woodland forest.
