Description:

Small Australian bird, white body feathers, grey toned back, wings and tail, tail also has a large black band and white band, is able to hover in flight, insect, spider and caterpillar eater, small sharp beak with whiskers. Call is repeated jacky jacky with variations, contributing to its common name.

Habitat:

Found throughout much of Australia mostly in wooded areas, this one residing in woodland adjacent to river system.
