Anthochaera chrysoptera chrysoptera (Eastern race)
Also known as the Brush Wattlebird. A wattlebird without wattles as other types have; grey and white streaked body darker on top and lighter underneath, slight tinge of brown above. Grows to around 30cm, male and female are fairly similar; an insect eater but also eats nectar, honeydew, aggressive towards other birds when nesting but also very flighty and nervous if approached. This one found nesting in a Pandanus tree.
Found in eastern regions of Australia in forest, woodlands, parks, gardens, farms where tree cover and food resources are available. Western race has slight variations in colour and markings.

Thanks Dilan. They're very nervous birds, as you can probably see by the look of this bird.
