House Sparrow

Description:

Small sparrow that is brown and buff in color with some gray on its' underparts. It has a black bill and a short tail. This is a female.

Habitat:

This bird was spotted in my backyard. Their habitat includes urban, suburban, and areas in the countryside where there are farms or human structures.

Notes:

Fun Facts: 1. The house sparrow is an introduced species to the United States in the year 1851. 2. These sparrows often nest in manmade structures as oppose to a more natural nesting spot such as trees. 3. The oldest recorded sparrow was just shy of 16 years of age. 4.
