Description:

This species is found in tropical and subtropical forest-edge habitats at altitudes from 200-800m. The butterflies are normally seen singly. Both sexes nectar at Senecio, Eupatorium, Lantana and other flowers.

Habitat:

It is found from Argentina north to Mexico. A rare stray has been recorded from southern Texas.

Notes:

The wingspan is 23–28 mm. The upperside is dull brown and the underside is grey with orange-brown outer margins and irregular stripes. There is one generation per year with adults on wing in early November in southern Texas and from May to December in Mexico.
