Brown-headed Nuthatch

Sitta pusilla

Description:

The brown-headed nuthatch has a gray back, brown cap bordered by a black line that extends through eyes. A white chin, breast and belly. Pale gray spot at nape of neck. Female same as male.

Habitat:

The is a tiny bird of open pine forests. This brown-headed nuthatch was spotted at our feeder in our campsite at Grayton Beach State Park in Santa Rosa, Florida. There are lots of pine trees here.
