Description:

Brackets growing individually, laterally fused in clusters on side or top of fallen tree trunk. Brackets, semicircular up to 3 inches wide (ca. 1.5 inch radius); Wafer thin (similar to Trametes versicolor); Irregular ‘ragged’ margin; colors ranging from gray near the attachment point, and zones of browns to pale cream (in more exposed brackets); concentric zones of texture with some more densely hairy than others. Pore surface with elongated and maze-like pores, approximately 1 mm wide and varying in length; pores ca. 1mm deep.

Habitat:

Growing on fallen hardwood log (ca. 5-6 inches diameter) lying in grass in mixed hardwood/pine woods on floodplain to a small year-round drainage to the Appalachee River.
