Red-winged blackbird

Agelaius phoeniceus

Description:

A lone male red-winged blackbird was at my feeders for a couple weeks, which was very unusual. Then, when the polar vortex visited North Carolina, he was joined by a flock of other birds, who obviously decided that it was now time to take advantage of human-provided food!

Habitat:

My yard
