Green Blotched Moth

Description:

This moth species occurs over most of Australasia. It has a wingspan of about 4cm

Habitat:

Grass. The caterpillar eats Australian Bluebell ( Wahlenbergia, CAMPANULACEAE ), Lobelia ( Lobelia inflata, CAMPANULACEAE ), and Verbena ( Verbena species, VERBENACEAE ).

Notes:

flew quickly when accidentally disturbed and landed on some grass, where it sat patiently as I photographed it. Very cute! Very small.
