Description:

Medium size butterfly with a dark body. Wings have orange and black markings on the upperside, silver metallic spots on the underside. Wingspan about 55 mm.

Habitat:

Spotted in eastern Washington in the Cascade foothills above 2000 ft. along a dirt road where there was an opening in the forest. Several species of wildflowers and thistles in the area.
