Grey Slug Moth

Scopelodes albipalpalis

Description:

Scopelodes albipalpalis - a strange furry grey-colored moth. Legs are all grey and furry thick, however one of its legs is missing. It is not feeling threatened or disturbed because its two hairy "pom poms" are not "activated" yet. It has been resting in this same spot for a long time, maybe it is confident of its camouflage or defense mechanism.

Habitat:

Kundasang Forests, Sabah.

Notes:

Another moth of the same species with its "puffballs" seen - http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/121... First photo obtained from my dad with permission, second picture photographed by myself. >>>Map accuracy : 10m diameter.
