Eurema alitha jalendra
Eurema alitha jalendra (Fruhstorfer, 1910). Pieridae; Coliadinae. Usually mistaken for the Common Grass Yellow (Eurema hecabe). It was first described as Terias alitha by C. & R. Felder in 1862. It is found in Southeast Asia.
Spotted on Lantana camara flowers (Spanish Flag or West Indian Lantana), backyard, in Biñan Laguna, Philippines.
The identification of the species of Eurema is often not easy, particularly when the butterflies have a rather restless flight, and are alert when approached. The main identifying characteristics rely on certain distinguishing markings, particularly the number of spots at the cell on the underside of the forewing. http://butterflycircle.blogspot.com/2009...

I checked again the original pictures, and following the key to identifying the Eurema sp., I confirmed that my spotting has only 1 cell spot on the underside of the forewing. This is turning out to be a One-spot Grass Yellow Butterfly (Eurema andersonii)! http://butterflycircle.blogspot.com/2009... http://ifoundbutterflies.org/3-lepidopte....
This 1 also looks like E. blanda (3 spot grass yellow... http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/161...
