white ibis

Eudocimus albus

Description:

The white ibis is all white and has a long downward curved bill. Bill and legs are orange-to-red in color. The female is same but smaller. They fly in groups and nest in large colonies in well made stick nests.

Habitat:

This white ibis (along with many other white ibis) was spotted in the new Louisiana swamp display at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans, Louisiana. This is quite a display and makes you feel like you really are in the swamps of Louisiana. Maybe all the birds that were there do also.
