Blister Beetle

Mylabris pustulata

Description:

The black and red stripes on the beetle's body warn predators that it is poisonous. Blister beetles are so-called because they secrete cantharidin, a chemical that causes blistering on human skin.

Notes:

Found plenty of these feeding on the morning glory plants, beside a pond.
