Common Five-ring

Ypthima stellera stellera

Description:

A tiny butterfly, about 11mm in length (resting position). Spotted on a sweet potato leaf.

Habitat:

Backyard.

Notes:

Dec1, 2012 update: I had to change the ID from Y. baldus (Common Five-ring) to Ypthima stellera stellera since the latter is more prevalent in Luzon and the country, while Y. baldus mostly ocurs in Palawan. Related spotting: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/161....

Thanks Jolly. Yes, it is paler than the ones I've seen before, almost pinkish already.
