Carolina Mantis

Stagomantis carolina

Description:

Large, green mantis. Wingless.

Habitat:

Found on the stem of a Spanish Needles plant. A weed in our vegetable garden.

Notes:

it appeared right after the Leaf-like mantis disappeared. Just a few feet away. Is this a wingless female or a nymph? Would be a very large nymph.
