Description:

Rich brown upper body and smudged spots on the breast, with a reddish tail. Thin pale eyering.

Habitat:

Forages on the forest floor by rummaging through leaf litter. Hermit Thrush is one of five similar thrushes in the genus Catharus.It is the only one of these species that lives in the U.S. in winter.
