Yellow Tiger Moth

Oeonistis altica

Description:

This Oeonistis altica on my cup is sucking the sweet leftover milo drink. Bright yellow body with black legs, eyes, antennae and wing marks. About 25mm from forehead to wingtip. This species is similar to Oeonistis entella but can be distinguished through http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-7/ples...

Habitat:

In the forest of Maliau Basin.

Notes:

It was attracted to the night lights in the Maliau Dining Hall late one night when we were having drinks before we call it a day. It then flew to my cup and started "licking" the sweet milo water using it's long proboscis. >>>Map accuracy : 5km diameter.
