Small brown lizard, maybe between 2-2.5in long. maybe 6 white spots near the spine and many smaller black spots covering its body

Habitat:

found next to my front door where grass and a rockbed are

I agree with eastern newt but I did more searching, do you think it might be the subspecies of central newt? The orange dots don't seem to be fully encired
