Somewhat gull-like seabird, about 35cm in length; whitish below and light grey above, with conspicuous black cap and pointed red bill.
Observed in flight over a bay on Pelješac peninsula, Dubrovnik riviera.
This was the first time I've seen terns in Croatia; and the first time I managed a relatively OK photo of tern in flight...
