Nuphar lutea
Also known as Brandy-bottle, this is an aquatic plant of the family Nymphaeaceae. On the surface of stagnant water bodies it inhabits, the plant produces a mass of heart-shaped oval leaves, and a solitary, hermaphrodite terminal yellow flowers. The flowers are 2 to 4 cm in diameter, with five or six large bright yellow sepals, concealing numerous small yellow petals..
The Yellow water-lily is native to temperate regions of Palearctic, and thrives in shallow water and wetlands, with its roots in the sediment and its leaves floating on the water surface. Here observed in many spots in lakes on river Krka, Krka NP (Croatia). In Krka NP, Krka river forms a series of waterfalls and lakes; it is surrounded by a magnificent dense broad-leaved forest, and its shallow coastal waters are rich in vegetation.
