Jumping Spider

Opisthoncus sp.

Description:

7mm - 1cm

Habitat:

This species has been spotted a number of times here. The apartment habitat is close to a rocky ledge surrounded by broken tree and shrub cover. It is an apartment village. These guys wander all over the place by my doors so I have not established their "true" habitat here

Notes:

It is agreed that it is Opisthoncus sp. but may be a juvenile O.mordax or O. parcedentatus

Chun, Find a Spider website owner Ron Atkinson suggests it looks more like O. parcedentatus but it could be a juvenile O.mordax. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Yes, your other spotting is darker and looks much larger.

http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/167... Chun I am not giving this one an id yet, as you can see from the link it is very different from the other one I have on the site

Chun, structures look correct to be an O. mordax but the colours seem different. I will go back to the images I didn't use. Thanks

I am thinking that this might be an Opisthoncus mordax.
