Larus delawarensis
Most of the body is white with the exception of their back in wings, which are a silvery-gray. They have yellow legs and a yellow bill with a black ring around it.
Their breeding habitat is near lakes, rivers or the coast in Canada and the northern United States, and are often found in Ireland and Great Britain.
This was at a park with a lot of ducks, obviously all used to people because I could get about 2 feet from them and they wouldn't even act like I was there. Some children came up and started feeding the ducks, so the gulls came in and were just hovering right over me, I was lucky to not get pooped on :)

Thanks Cody! They kept hovering right over me..helped to get some good pictures :) And I'm still learning the tricks to photography, but I'm slowly getting better!
Really excellent! Love how the wing tips are just slightly blurry - gives the appearance of speed. Perfect exposure though, that's the trick!!
Thanks Maria! Moved it to first :)
Beautiful series; especiallly like the fifth photo!
I cannot help you on gulls, they confuse me a ton too! This is the only one I know, and I'm pretty sure it's the only one with the ring on the bill. I'm not sure if it matters if it's a black tip or a black ring, I think it's the same concept?
And you're right about the one having an all white tail and the rest having a band, maybe it has somethinto do with whether or not it is breeding age yet? They take 3 years to get there, and I'm sure each stage looks different.
Gulls are confusing to ID for me...even in your photos they look very different...one has all white tail, another seems to have a fairly solid band and then another has what appears to be a thinner black band.
Even the bills look to have a solid black tip on some photos and on another it has a ring. Have any pointers on how to ID gulls in general?
