Longhorned beetle (male)

Eburia ovicollis

Description:

large beetle with distinctive ivory markings on elytra (wing covers). Range restricted to southwest Texas.

Habitat:

Found at lights at night on side of nature center building. Habitat is deciduous forest in floodplain of the Rio Grande River.

Notes:

Male longhorned beetles typically have much longer antennae than the females.
