Black-headed gull (winter)

Description:

Long around 37 cm. The superior plumage is gery and the inferior is lighter. The legs are red, the beak thin and red. In the summer it's head is brown, in the winter white with a black spot behind the eye.

Habitat:

The coastal area of the city

Notes:

They are one of the two species of gulls in Trieste, they usually stay on the coast out of town, but sometimes come near the central square, where these pictures were taken.
