Catopsilia pomona
Female lemon emigrants constantly visit a variety of flowers en masse with males (see one here taken in the same tree at the same time http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/168... ).
This spotting on peacock flower (Caesalpinia pulcherrima) in a large semi-urban yard & garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

Thanks Martin. They are my most common butterfly during much of the year (or so it seems now). They occur in droves and are not so easy to photograph high in the peacock flower trees!
I agree with the suggestion of common and widespread lemon migrant female and male in ther other shot. Sometimes you see several on a large flowering shrub such as this and it makes a delightful memory.
As simple as female (here) and male (the other) I think. Lemon emigrant Catopsilia pomona? Check out http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20ord...
Hi Bayucca. As I wrote in the description...They look quite different but day after day they are together, and interacting. I would think they are different but I do not know what I have. I'll make a separate spotting. Thanks
Sorry about my silly question: Are 1/4 and 2/3 really the same ones? If yes, I am wondering about the different appearence depending on light and angulation. My first guess would be some Appias sp., but I am not sure.
Thank you Sachin and Adarsha!
What a beautiful pics...Specially second pic is beautiful!
Very Lovely Picture,
