Red Junglefowl (male)

Gallus gallus

Description:

A feral Gallus gallus male. This species exhibits sexual dimorphism, as the males are much larger and have a comb atop their heads. Gallus gallus are capable of flying, but only over short distances.

Habitat:

Seen in the rainforest, just outside Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens.

Notes:

I'm not sure, but it appears that there are females in tow.

What threw me off, Karen, is that they have combs. Aren't males usually the ones who have those?
